A twin cooling system, is a something often mentioned in features and spec breakdowns of side by side models, but what is a Twin Cooling System?

Basically it means the compartments, made up of the fridge and freezer being separate, the air between them never mixes. By using this method the humidity levels in the fridge are constant, keeping your vegetables fresh and crisp and increasing the fridge freezer's efficiency.

A more detailed and technical description would be that the the Twin Cooling Technology uses two individual evaporators that generate cooling air into the fridge and freezer independently. As a result, a high humidity level of 43% is maintained and the freezer retains the natural flavour of food with no transfer of odours.

Twin Cooling Plus System

This is a technology also available on the Samsung Jasper Morrison range of side by side fridge freezers. This system works in a similar way to the twin cooling system as it keeps the two compartments, fridge section and the freezer section completely seperate, and independently cools each chamber using its own evaporator. This ensures that cool air form the freezer section can in no way find its way into the fridge section, keeping a high humidity level of around 73%, slightly higher than on the standard twin cooling system, but still a great and effective feature to have on any Samsung refrigerator helping preserve the freshness of your food.
